The Green Links area has a lot of car free walking and cycling routes along the coast and beaches.
The Prestatyn to Dyserth Way provides slightly different scenery with a 2 ½ mile car free route along a disused railway line taking in green hills, verges of wild flowers and flat smooth paths for an easy journey.
The railway worked as a passenger line in 1905 but stopped serving passengers and served the quarry in 1930 until 1973 when it closed.
The rail line is now a linear nature reserve and shared use path. The flat smooth paths of this route make the site very popular with families and novice riders.
The Prestatyn to Dyserth Way provides a useful route to nature reserves including Coed y Morfa and Bishops Wood, however, the verges and linear woodland is a local nature reserve in its own right.
As well as being home to a number of rare wildflower and herb species, linear nature reserves are important corridors allowing animals and birds to migrate and travel between habitats.
