Pensarn & Towyn Tourist Information

Looking for long sandy golden beaches?...Then look no further than Pensarn and Towyn!

Pensarn and Towyn are at the centre of the Green Links area.

The area has a lot to offer from beaches that wouldn’t look out of place in the Caribbean, access to the outstanding North Wales Countryside and nature reserves with rare plants and birds.

Home for nature as well as sea side fun

Pensarn beach is a firm favourite for those looking to enjoy everything a day at the seaside has to offer.

Building sand castles, ice creams and if you’re feeling brave a swim in the sea.

But Pensarn beach is also home to a shingle rare with rare and scientifically important plants including Sea Kale, Orchids and Sea radish.

It is also possible to see ringed plovers flying around.

Kinmel Dunes is further East along the bay and is home to a now rare sand dune system.

Time for sports

Kinmel Bay, Pensarn and Towyn are fast becoming key destinations for sports lovers, particularly water sports.

This area offers some of the best fishing in Wales.

Beach casting from the welcoming sandy beaches here provides fantastic views, plenty of facilities and regular catches.

If relaxing with the rod isn’t your thing then why not try kite surfing at the new kite surf school in Kinmel Bay?

Consistent winds and easy exits and entry make this area ideal for kite surfing.

Kayaking and paddle boarding are also popular.

Look at the water sport page for more information.

Flat and car-free, lets go for a ride!

The promenades, paths and national cycle network that works its way through Pensarn and Kinmel Bay sees thousands of cyclists every year.

The route is all free from cars and all but flat (apart from one short hill at Llandudlas).

Why not hire bikes from Rhyl Harbour and explore the bay by bike.

Take a stroll and enjoy the scenery by foot, you’ll be able to go further than you thought on this flat welcoming terrain.
